HEY, I'M Rachel

I help high achieving humans stop the negative self talk and doubts, so that they are able to live the life they dream about.

While we can't change our past or control how people show up in our lives, we do have the power to choose how we respond to them

I grew up in a small town in Vermont. Seeking more opportunities, I moved to Charlotte, NC for 8 years after completing my undergraduate degree. In North Carolina, I welcomed my first child, and upon returning to Vermont in 2015, I welcomed my second. I moved back because I missed the Green Mountains, hiking, kayaking, and the four seasons (or five, if you count mud season) that Vermont offers. I have a passion for connecting with my community and sharing my story and experiences.

High achievement has been in my genetics long before I was born.

Both of my grandfathers successfully ran and operated their own businesses for many years, and from a young age, I observed their achievements and failures. My grandfather often said, “If you find a job you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Their constant striving to grow and improve for themselves and their family is why you are reading this today.

Motivated by the desire to do more than just fit in the box, I embarked on a journey to find a job I would love. At the core of my work is a true, authentic connection with others, helping them realize their potential and take the next steps to achieve it.

I help people have healthy relationships so they can have deeper connections with their family, friends and community.

My journey supporting families began in 2007 at a residential treatment facility for children with reactive attachment disorder, where I trained under Daniel Hughes in Didactic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). DDP is a therapeutic approach that helps build attachments between children and caregivers, especially when trauma has disrupted those bonds. In many instances, the trauma involved my clients being removed from their biological families due to a lack of care.

Passionate about helping others

Throughout my career, whether in my private practice or other settings, my core themes remain consistent: a passion for helping those whose past still impacts their present, providing support and education on how the past may affect relationships and parenting, and assisting people in reaching their fullest potential, so that they can lead more fulfilling lives, build healthier relationships, and parent in a way that breaks the cycle of intergenerational trauma.

I found EMDR -- or perhaps it found me.

A colleague in the office next to mine practiced EMDR, and I started referring clients to her for adjunctive work. I quickly became curious about the “secret sauce” of EMDR, as my clients were improving rapidly. I took my first basic training in 2019 and immediately integrated EMDR into my practice.

The pandemic highlighted the need for a sustainable colleague network, leading me to The Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy. I attend regular consultation groups and am under the mentorship of Deany Laliotis. In summer 2024, I accepted an offer to join Deany’s Faculty in Training (FIT) program, supporting other therapists in learning the craft of EMDR.

EMDR offers my clients limitless upward potential, helping them connect the past to the present and impact their future goals. I learned quickly that not all EMDR trainings and consultants are the same, and I have aligned my work with a program that sets the highest standards and expectations for their consultants and faculty members.

I wanted to create something non-traditional and out of the box.

I wanted to create a therapeutic structure that breaks away from conventional methods and truly caters to high achievers' unique needs. My practice offers EMDR Intensive Programs that allow for deep, focused sessions beyond the limitations of traditional therapy. This method is designed to fit into your busy schedule, providing substantial progress in a condensed timeframe. By integrating personalized workbooks, learning modules, and extended reprocessing sessions, my approach ensures you receive tailored, impactful therapy that helps you overcome past challenges and achieve your fullest potential.

I'm on a mission

I'm on a mission to transform therapy for high achievers. My goal is to provide a non-traditional, out-of-the-box structure that addresses the unique challenges you face. By offering EMDR Intensive Programs, I deliver deep, focused therapy sessions that fit into your demanding schedule and drive meaningful, lasting change. My passion lies in helping you connect the past to the present, overcome limiting beliefs, and unlock your fullest potential, so you can achieve true balance and fulfillment in all aspects of your life.

Connection, story telling, life long learning, a good cup of coffee, soaking in the warmth of the sun, sitting next to the camp fire, laughter, asking questions, breaking cycles

The darkness of winter, feeding systematic beliefs that no long serve us, disconnection, stale coffee, and boredom
