A Connection to the Carolinas

My path to practicing in the Green Mountains of Vermont included eight years living and working in North Carolina. I earned my Master’s Degree at Winthrop University, and my clinical perspective was shaped by the people and culture of the South. While I returned to Vermont to be closer to family, I maintain a long-range goal of returning to the Carolinas.

Because of my history there, I have a firsthand understanding of the cultural nuances of the region. I provide Online EMDR to North Carolina residents who are looking for a clinician who understands their community—whether you are navigating the high-stakes professional world of the Research Triangle or the specific rhythms of life in the Charlotte metro area.

Neuro-Affirming Care for ADHD & Trauma

I specialize in the "upcycling" of trauma. This means we don't just aim to minimize symptoms; we work to repurpose the fragments of your past into a functional foundation for your future. My practice is deeply neuro-affirming, meaning I adapt my approach to work with the natural wiring of the ADHD and Neurodivergent brain.

  • ADHD-Informed EMDR: We move at the pace of your nervous system, honoring your sensory needs and unique processing style.

  • Complex & Relational Trauma: Addressing the "stuck" patterns from childhood or long-term adversity that still impact your life today.

  • Professional Burnout: Specialized support for those in demanding roles who are facing vicarious trauma or moral injury.

A Personal Note on the "Calm State"

Fun Fact: In EMDR work, we often identify a "Calm State"—a mental landscape that helps ground the nervous system.  Mine is, and has always been, Wrightsville Beach. Many of the coastal images you see throughout this site were captured there or along the nearby shores. It was my sanctuary during my eight years in the South, and it remains a touchstone for my own regulation and peace.
